LOEWE FOUNDATION Craft Prize 2023

he 2023 edition of the LOEWE FOUNDATION Craft Prize took place in New York, in the former studio of artist and sculptor Isamu Noguchi, under the creative direction of Jonathan Anderson.Head of Art direction Bob Eaton

The creative idea behind the overall communication was to enhance the complex range of textures and materials explored by the different contestants. Massimiliano Bomba shot 30 short videos on MiniDV, creating a textural pattern and working on a kind of symphony of sounds and materials.

These videos were used across social media channels and within the dedicated digital exhibition, creatively developed by Giga. The digital experience was built around the concepts of proximity and sound, amplifying the exhibition’s multi-textural expressive landscape.

The hero campaign was shot by Matthew Lavanchy, while the supporting images were photographed by Cristina Sthole. A director’s cut video, composed of the 30 pieces shot by Massimiliano Bomba, was projected at the venue, anticipating the winner announcement by Fran Lebowitz.
